Dissolving Doors is a festival with three days of class, two nights of performances, and opening and closing jams on Wednesday and Sunday. Organized by the Philly Compositional Improv Lab in conjunction with the NY Lab and the Lovelies, the festival is a space to share practices in: improvisation making, training for performance, composing in real-time, body-based spontaneous ensembles, and more.
The faculty from Philly are Loren Groenendaal, Curt Haworth, Kat J Sullivan; the NY faculty include Kathryn Butler, Joanna Futral, Allison Knuth, Lena Lauer, and Katie Vason. Students are encouraged to participate in the full festival, but drop-in classes are open as space is available.
